About
More than 30 years of restoration and research have been necessary for Tarazona to shine as it does today, especially its Cathedral of Santa María de la Huerta.
This town is a key part of Aragon’s history, and its layout tells the story of the various cultures that once inhabited it: Romans, Jews, Muslims, and Christians.

Tarazona is a town with more than 2000 years of history. The first written account of a Celtiberian Turiaso date from the 2nd century BCE, though the Romans would make it a prosperous community well-integrated within the Empire.
In the Middle Ages, Tarazona will be ruled by Visigoths, Muslims, and Christians, and would also have one of the largest Jewries in Aragón. In the background, the Moncayo Range has been a silent witness throughout the years of splendour and decline of Tarazona.
